Many repairs come down to a board, a rail or a single post, not a new fence.

Most fence problems come down to one failed post, one broken panel or one sagging gate, and fixing them costs far less than a new fence. In Port St. Lucie, resetting or replacing a post costs about $150–$400 per post, replacing a panel or section about $150–$450 per section, and re-hanging a gate about $100–$400 per gate. We repair every material, including fences we did not build.

Repairs we handle every week

  • Leaning or loose posts. Usually a post that was never set in enough concrete, or a wood post rotted at ground level. We dig it out and reset or replace it in concrete.
  • Cracked or blown-out vinyl panels. Replaced with matching panels where the style is still made, or the closest match.
  • Rotten wood boards, rails and posts. Replaced piece by piece where the rest of the fence is sound.
  • Bent aluminum sections. Usually from a falling branch or a car. Sections are replaced and re-racked to the slope.
  • Chain link damage. Bent top rail, torn or sagging fabric, broken ties.
  • Gates that drag or will not latch. New hinges, latches or a re-hang. See gates.

Storm damage and replacement

Hurricane season is hard on fences here. Solid privacy fences catch the wind, wet sand loosens its grip on the posts, and falling limbs do the rest. After a storm we prioritize fences that matter for safety: pool barriers, broken sections that let dogs out, and anything leaning over a sidewalk or a neighbor's yard.

When a run is beyond saving, we tear it out, haul it away and build a new fence on the same line. Tear-out and disposal usually adds $3–$8 per foot. If you are filing an insurance claim, we give you a written, itemized estimate with photos that your adjuster can work from.

Repair or replace?

We will tell you straight. If the damage is limited to a few posts or sections and the rest of the fence is sound, repair it. If posts are failing all along the line, if a wood fence is rotting at the base everywhere, or if a vinyl style is so old that nothing matches, a new fence is usually the better spend. The price guide shows what new fencing costs so you can compare.

What a repair visit costs

Small jobs carry a charge of about $150–$300 minimum, which covers the trip, the concrete and the first post or section. Send a photo of the damage when you call and we can often tell you the likely price before we arrive.

About these prices: repair costs are estimates until we see the damage. A photo helps us narrow it, and you get the price before any work starts.

Fence repair: common questions

Do you repair fences you didn't install?

Yes. We repair fences of any brand and material, whoever built them.

Why does my vinyl fence lean after every storm?

Usually because the posts were set shallow or without enough concrete in sandy soil. Resetting them properly normally ends the problem.

Does homeowners insurance cover a fence blown down in a storm?

Many policies cover fences under other structures coverage, subject to the deductible and the policy terms. We provide the itemized estimate; your insurer decides the claim.

Can you match an old vinyl fence?

Often, but not always. Some older styles are discontinued. If we cannot match it, we will suggest replacing a full run so it looks uniform.
